How to Add a Photo to Your Bird Book
Bottom Line: Your FeatherSnap App’s Bird Book is where you can store images of all the distinct species sightings you log.
When you spot a new bird species at your FeatherSnap smart bird feeder, there are three ways to identify the species and add it to your Bird Book.
AI Bird Species Identification
To let AI determine the bird species:
- Long Tap on the image to select
- Tap Add to Bird Book
- Tap Identify with AI
- AI will generate a list selection of the most likely species
- Match yours to the generated list and confirm
- Save to Bird Book
- Note that for the most accurate AI results, ensure the bird is clearly visible and centered in the frame
Manual Bird Species Identification
To use clues to identify the bird species:
- Long tap on the image to select it
- Tap Add to Bird Book
- Select Identify with Bird ID
- Choose the size, select up to three most prominent colors, and choose region
- Choose the best match from the generated possibilities
- Tap Save to Bird Book
Self-Entered Bird Species Identification
If you are sure of the bird species:
- Long tap on an image to select it
- Tap Add to Bird Book
- Type in the name
- Save
Once a species is logged into your Bird Book, you can learn fun facts, see all your saved images, learn about favorite foods, and understand identifying features and migration patterns.
